On Friday, September 9th, FMHS welcomes back our Falcons with a Back to School rally! A new year brings with it a fresh start, and plenty of chances to set goals and make new memories. Rallies are always an exciting thing to look forward to because you are surrounded by positive vibes and people enjoying each other’s company. ASB always goes above and beyond with the banners and decor to make sure everything looks interesting and is reflecting our strong Falcon pride. With our theme being a hawaiian luau, everyone was sporting their leis and floral t-shirts.

Right away, everyone got pumped up with the usual class shout-off with seniors winning as usual. A few minutes in the lights shut off and we were treated to a short film created by students in Video Tech. The Star Wars theme song started up and displayed a monologue regarding FMHS. Apparently a few of our students were upset about Harambe the gorilla passing away, and gave thought to the future school year. Overall, it made us all laugh at some point. Soon after, the lights went on and the games began.

One of the first games was a pineapple painting contest, however, the catch was you could not use your hands to paint. Instead, students used their elbows or even their mouths to create a masterpiece. Although it was an incredibly close call, the juniors screams declared Sash Johnston’s pineapple the winner between her and Sarah Houghton.

A few other games included an egg carrying contest and a vaseline cotton ball activity. There was even a round of Limbo, whose contestants included Beau Ludwig, Charlie Robertson, and Eric Henning. The Falcon Cheer team was introduced by Andrea Cuba, and soon after they performed their impressive cheer routine. It was evident that their hard work at practices, along with Miss White’s coaching, has definitely paid off.

In between games, Carissa Rivette or Cambree Rincon would get everyone excited by throwing candy into the sea of students. Our rally’s host, Bruno Perez, did a great job in keeping things exciting and fun for all who were present. Towards the end of the rally, we topped things off with a usual round of musical chairs. When it came down to the final two, Ryan Oman ended up winning against Michael Kern. As a whole, the Back to School rally was a ton of fun and a huge success!
