The drive certainly didn’t take as long as the trip to Bishop, but it was still a good hour and a half into the Mojave desert before the Falcon Cross Country Team landed in California City for their third meet of the season. This was a dual meet against the Cal City Ravens on Wednesday, October 12th. The Boys Team Co-Captains (Aden Wiebers and Dawson Ford) ran, along with Eric Henning, Austin Flores, Lucas Flores, Otto Jensen, and Nathan Steers; Girls Team Captain Masey Zimmerman and Junior Bianca Mechelin also ran in the dual meet against Cal City. The boys were up against eleven other runners; the girls against six. Here is how they did:

Aden Wiebers came in 1st with a time of 17.54.

Dawson Ford took 5th with a time of 19.56.

Nathan Steers was in 8th place with a time of 21.18.

Lucas Flores in 11th place with a time of 22.12.

Otto Jensen took 14th place with a time of 23.07.

Austin Flores placed 17th with a time of 25.30.

Eric Henning came in 18th place with a time of 29.38.

The Cal City boys took 1st place as a team with 22 points, and FMHS came in 2nd with 37 points (in cross country, the lowest score wins).

For the girls team, Masey Zimmerman came in 8th place with a time of 29.43.

The Cal City girls team won by default, because there aren’t enough FMHS girls to run as a team (the two girls are still able to run as individuals).

Great job to all of our Falcon runners!
