It may have taken a month to finish creating the course, but Wednesday, October 5th was the Falcon cross country team’s first home meet of the season! Boys Team Co-Captains Aden Wiebers and Dawson Ford ran along with Eric Henning, Austin Flores, Lucas Flores, Otto Jensen, and Nathan Steers; and the Girls Team Captain Masey Zimmerman also ran in the dual meet against Rosamond. Almost all of the Falcon boys beat their times from last week. Here are the stats:

Aden Wiebers took 3rd place with a time of 19:41.

Dawson Ford came in 6th with a time of 20:49.

Lucas Flores was in 7th place with a time of 22:22.

Next came Nathan Steers in 9th place with a time of 22:41.

Austin Flores came in 12th place with a time of 26:58.

Eric Henning came in 13th place with a time of 30:06.

Otto Jensen had an unofficial time of 27:49.

The Rosamond boys took 1st place as a team, with 20 points, and the FMHS boys took 2nd with 37 points (in cross country, the lowest team score wins). For the girls team, Masey Zimmerman came in 8th place with a time of 30.37. Great job Falcon runners!

The Rosamond girls won by default, because there aren’t enough FMHS girls to run as a team (the two girls are still able to run as individuals). So, if there are any girls out there who would like to come out for cross country (there is no running experience required), please feel free to come to practice and talk with Coach Christy Zimmerman. She will be able to answer all of your questions and concerns. Practices are: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at FMHS; Thursdays at El Tejon Middle School; and Tuesdays are usually at FMHS, but are subject to change. All practices are from 4:00-5:30 (sometimes go to 6:00). See you there!
