This season the Frazier Mountain High School star volleyball team have never ceased to amaze us. With every game the girls have put their hearts and souls onto the court and it showed to all the fans who came to watch them throughout the season. The last two years were amazing for our past teams as they were able to become CIF Southern Section champions both years, and this year was to be no exception. However, this year, through all the hard work the girls put into the season, they were not able to win CIF for the third year in a row. Without having that crush their spirits, they powered through State playoffs and were able to make it all the way to the third round, breaking a school record for making it the farthest any volleyball team has gone in the history of Frazier Mountain High School. The season ended with the team coming in first place throughout their league, but tying for first with their biggest competitor, California City. Both of the teams had only lost one game throughout their season, which conveniently were both against each other.

As the team into league advanced into the playoffs they were fortunate enough to receive home playoff games for 2 rounds of league playoffs. The first playoff game was against Wonderful College Prep Academy, who the girls have already come face-to-face with during their pre-season. The girls were able to pull it off in 3 games winning 11-25 in the first game, 9-25 in the second, and 16-25 in the final game. Next the ladies faced Kings Christian, a high energy well rounded team. The team took them 4 games winning the first and second games one 25-18 and 25-11, losing the third game one 25-21, and finally winning the fourth game 25-12. The next game, also home, was against Lake Arrowhead Christian High School. The girls were able to win the match in 4 games, but barely losing the second game 27-25; but coming out victorious and advancing to the next round. The third game was against the only team the girls were afraid to face, California City, who lost in the second round of league playoffs but were brought up by a wildcard pick to play for a state title. The girls, full of revenge after their loss against Cal City, was ready for redemption. Coming out strong the girls were able to beat Cal City in only 3 games 25-13, 25-19, and finally winning the last game 25-13! With the girls breaking Frazier Mountain history for going the farthest ever in State playoffs a team had ever gone. All the girls had to do was win this game and they would be in the finals for state! Sadly, after an immense amount of traffic that turned a 2 hour drive into a 5 hour drive, the girls were unable to beat Capistrano Valley Christian High School. The girls played their best match in the first game, but were unable to pull out the last 3. We would like to congratulate our Lady Falcons on making it as far as they did this season, and breaking the school's record! Good luck next season ladies!
