When Snow Bunnies Strike!

Large white puff balled snowflakes falling down to cover our land, draping the cold earth in that wonderful pure snow. It seems like a miracle to the residents of our mountain that we are getting snow, and a lot of it. Last year in 2015, the amount of snow we received overall was only equivalent to the first few days of the winter 2016 and into our new year.

What is wrong with having a clean winter wonderland? Surely there is no issue at all with a beautiful white Christmas, especially to the rest of the world. The rest of the world, in this case, would be the hundreds of inconsiderate “snow bunnies” traveling to our mountain to play in the mud and snow. People from the cities flood into anywhere they can to play in the Southern California snow. According to the Mountain Enterprise, there were a reported 65,000 snow bunnies

that traveled to Frazier Park in the first days of snowfall here. Small businesses like Don’s Liquor, the Market, and restaurants reeled in a lot of profit, selling needed sleds, snow gear, and food. While it is wonderful that they were able to make that much money, the frustration that comes with the endless amounts of traffic is definitely not worth it. On our one laned highways, how could emergency vehicles possibly reach places like Pine Mountain Club to do their jobs efficiently- which is saving lives. Not only is this flood of people ceaselessly annoying, but can be a risk to our loved ones.

If you asked around yourself, it would be clear the residents of Frazier Park to Pine Mountain Club are upset with the typically dimwitted snow loving city people, who have been long since dubbed with the name “snow bunnies”. They’re seen everywhere snow is found, and they seem to multiply by the hour. Perhaps a better and more fitting name would be “snow Rats”.
