FFA’s Week of Welcome & the First Monthly Chapter Meeting

The Lebec-Frazier Mountain FFA Chapter Officers had a week of welcome served up for all of their peers August 21st through the 25th.
The week started off on Monday with a game of beach volleyball outside in the grass. Many of the freshmen came to participate, but we all had to improvise because of the wind.
Tuesday, about thirty students filled the gym to play pin guard. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, reliving the days when Mr. Stroh kept this game alive at the high school.

On Wednesday, students gathered in the cafetorium to join in on a game of musical chairs, always a favorite at FMHS. The game was fast and lively; freshman Adriana Calderon was the victor.
Yoga ball soccer was the game for Thursday’s lunch. This was made even more challenging by a new rule that participating students must crab-walk during play.

Finally, to cap off the week, the whole school was was invited to a free barbecue lunch on Friday, with plenty of good food, friends, and sunshine.
During the chapter meeting, the officers discussed all that had been done throughout the week, as well as the upcoming Greenhand Leadership Conference and Greenhand Officer elections in September. Everyone enjoyed pizza and salad, and then went outside for tons of water games.
All of our Chapter Officers spent weeks planning this school wide event and are extremely grateful for all of the participation and help received throughout the week. Thank you ASB for helping with the sound system during the BBQ, the cafeteria staff for providing the food, Mr. Caldera and Mr. Sanchez for doing an excellent job on the grill, and for everyone who helped with the setup and cleanup!
