This month’s athlete of the month is the one and only Morgan Bedard! She is a senior at Frazier Mountain and has played volleyball all 4 years here, 3 being on varsity. She is a setter and hitter for the varsity team, and is definitely one of the team’s most important players. She even got recruited from Taft College! The Falcon Beat asked Morgan a few questions, and here’s what she had to say.
Falcon Beat (FB): How long have you played volleyball for?
Morgan Bedard (MB): I have played volleyball for 9 years now, starting in middle school. # of those years have been on varsity at FMHS.
FB: What is your favorite thing about playing volleyball?
MB: My favorite thing would probably be how much of a team sport it is. I do have a passion for the sport, but I just love working with my team and seeing all of us get competitive together.
FB: What is your biggest accomplishment in the sport?
MB: My biggest accomplishment in volleyball was winning CIF my sophomore year and making it to state 2 years in a row.
FB: Do you plan on furthering your volleyball career?
MB:Yes! I plan on continuing to play volleyball and make it to state 2 years in a row.
FB: Who is someone important you look up to?
MB: Someone really important I look up to is my sister, Sarah. She always works so hard for everything she wants, and she has the biggest heart.
FB: What advice would you give someone wanting to play volleyball?
MB: Hm, well.. I would tell someone that they should always play their heart out, while also always having a good attitude.
FB: What are your plans for the future?
MB: My plans for the future are to go to a junior college to play volleyball and work towards becoming a veterinarian.
FB: What is something you’ll miss about playing volleyball at Frazier Mountain?
MB: Something I’ll miss about playing at Frazier Mountain is how close we all were as a team, and especially playing with my two close friends Sash Johnston and Emily Lira.
FB: How do you feel about the offer at taft college?
MB: I plan on looking at Taft College and watching their team play before making any final decisions.
Thank you so much Morgan! It was awesome watching you play volleyball this season, and The Falcon Beat wishes you the best in all of your future plans!
